Why Cadey refuses instead of guessing, and how to tune it.

Cadey is a grounded agent: every answer is built from retrieved knowledge and tool results, never invented. This is the core of the “never a dead end” promise.

The threshold

For each question, Cadey retrieves the most relevant passages and scores how well they cover the ask. Below the grounding threshold it will not answer from guesswork, it says it does not know and offers a human, a booking, or a ticket.

Tuning from real traffic

Every refusal is logged as an answer gap. Review the gaps, add the missing knowledge (a snippet usually fixes it), and the agent starts answering confidently. This loop is how the agent gets sharper week over week without risking a fabricated answer.
